SESSIONS EVERY WEEKDAY
1/2 Day session
This workshop will explore the assessment of mindfulness as a psychological capacity, focusing on the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, with consideration of other measures of mindfulness as well as measures of closely related capacities such as compassion. Topics include the development of the FFMQ, its psychometric properties, what we have learned from it, and recommendations for assessment.
The workshop is intended for mindfulness teachers and researchers who have an interest in measurement of mindfulness, both for assessing course participants and for conducting empirical research. Trainees will gain an understanding of the assumptions that underlie the assessment of mindfulness, how the FFMQ and other measures approach this task, what has been learned, and how to use these measures in their work.
