Description

This 1- Day workshop is for fully trained mindfulness teachers (i.e. those who have completed a 12 month structured face to face or live online training programme). If you have not trained as a teacher, please apply for our 12 month teacher training programme or our 10 day Train to Introduce Mindfulness course. Read further here: https://courses.oxfordmindfulness.org/teach-categories/

The training provides training in how to teach the Introducing Mindfulness (IM) course and associated practices.

As an addition to the MBCT family of courses, the Introducing Mindfulness course offers a brief taste of mindfulness practice and theory in a format intended to be accessible to anyone new to mindfulness. It can be offered as a formal programme of 3 one-hour sessions, or as drop-ins, taster and introductory sessions.

IMPORTANT: You do not need to complete this workshop if you are currently on the OMF 12-month cohort training route.

The OMF provides Confirmation of Attendance letters to all participants who attend and take part in all aspects of 100% of the training event, including break out rooms, with their camera on.

What will I do on this course?

We will explore the key intentions, structure and outline of the IM course. There will be discussions about where the IM course sits within the scope of broader mindfulness teaching – the similarities, differences, and any special considerations needed when offering shorter sessions to work colleagues, or other communities within which you intend to offer the course.

    Learning Outcomes

This workshop offers you the opportunity to:
    • Learn about the background and rationale for the IM curriculum
    • Understand the structure and sequence of this curriculum
    • Practise teaching the key practices and exercises that are part of this curriculum
    • Explore considerations for delivering this curriculum in a variety of settings
    • Reflect on similarities and differences between this curriculum and other mindfulness-based courses.
    • Curriculum materials and handouts for teaching the course are provided.
