What will I do on this course?

This workshop will be an engaging mix of practice, lecture, and period's of dialogue with David. Specifically you will:
  • Immerse yourself in predominantly experiential learning, complemented by insightful didactic teaching.
  • Learn alongside your peers in small breakout groups and large group discussions, fostering a collaborative environment for discussion, reflection, and mindfulness practices.
  • Explore when and how to respond with mindfulness practices in various contexts, empowering yourself with mindful choices to navigate life's challenges.
  • Experience the introduction of brief, simple, and highly accessible mindfulness practices, ideal for incorporating into different situations at home and work
  • Embrace an optional opportunity to participate in small group practice sessions with 2 or 3 fellow participants. Here, you can practice guiding brief mindfulness exercises, honing your skills in a supportive setting.

About the Teacher

David Treleaven

David Treleaven, Ph.D., is a writer, educator, trauma professional, and author of the acclaimed book Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness: Practices for Safe and Transformative Healing. David focuses on offering mindfulness providers the knowledge and tools they require to meet the needs of those struggling with trauma. Through workshops, keynotes, podcasts, and online education, he is closely engaged with current empirical research to inform best practices. David is currently a visiting scholar at Brown University and has worked with a number of organizations including The Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute developed at Google, University of Massachusetts Medical School, The Center for Contemplative Mind in Society, the Institute for Mindfulness South Africa, the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, and the Mindfulness Training Institute of Australia and New Zealand.
