SESSIONS EVERY WEEKDAY
Evening Event
In this special guest speaker event, we are delighted to welcome back Professor Mark Williams who will introduce the topic Deeper Mindfulness – the subject and title of his new book with co-author Dr Danny Penman.
“There are moments in Life that decide your fate. They ripple into the future and dictate how you experience the world in the moments that follow: either positive an uplifting dark and chaotic, or flat and dull.
What if you could recognise these moments before they seized control of your life? What if you could use them to set sail for a better future? What if all moments, big and small could be harnessed in this way.
Proven effective at treating anxiety, stress and depression, the practices in Deeper Mindfulness offer a new and more fruitful direction for both novice and experienced meditators. It also allows the rest of us to approach life with renewed strength, vigour and equanimity.”
Join us for this informative session as Mark explains the latest thinking in this area and leads us through some of the practices outlined in the book.
The OMF provides Confirmation of Attendance letters to all participants who attend and take part in all aspects of 100% of the training event, including break out rooms, with their camera on.
Mark Williams is Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Oxford. With Zindel Segal and John Teasdale he co-developed mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), is co-author of Mindfulness: Finding peace in a Frantic World, and The Mindful Way Workbook and author of Cry of Pain: Understanding Suicide and the Suicidal Mind.
He continues to train mindfulness teachers for Oxford Mindfulness and other centres worldwide. His current focus is exploring new gateways into mindfulness that will sustain and deepen practice. His book with Danny Penman Deeper Mindfulness (Piatkus 2023) reveals how awareness of feeling tone (vedana) can transform practice for both novice and experienced practitioners.
