Mindfulness: Teaching in the Workplace

Description

The training explores the skills required to introduce mindfulness confidently in workplace settings and build a practice in the field. Succinct presentations on relevant theories and concepts are blended with opportunities for hands-on practice, experiential learning and real-world applications through case study simulations and real-world assignments.

The course is for experienced mindfulness teachers, who are teaching Mindfulness-Based Programmes in line with the UK Good Practice Guidelines and meet the criteria shown.

Core themes over the 12 sessions include:

Teaching Block 1
1.   Understanding evolving workplace context
2.   Working effectively with limiting beliefs
3.   Holding client conversations
4.   Teaching methods for introductory sessions
5.   Unique positioning: finding your niche
6.   Building your brand and presence

Teaching Block 2
7.   Research and Evaluation
8.   Applied Teaching Methods – Adapting curricula to client needs
9.   Applied Teaching Methods – Mindfulness for leaders and teams
10. Developing workplace-centric offering
11.  Inquiry in the Workplace
12. Embedding mindfulness
13. Expanding Visibility and Exposure

Assignments

1. Marketing Assignment: participants will be invited to build their profile and client base by implementing their personal marketing strategy and plan developed during Teaching Block 1
2. Teaching Assignment: the task involves identifying a real-world client and offering an introductory session tailored to this client, which includes scoping, planning and teaching.

Participants should allow for 2 to 3 hours of homework and preparation in between sessions each week.

A Certificate of Readiness to Teach in the Workplace will be available for all participants who have attended and actively participated in both training blocks and completed all training assignments

Timings:

It takes place Friday mornings over 12 sessions, comprising two teaching blocks of 6 sessions 21st February to 24th October 2025:

  • Teaching Block 1 comprises 6 sessions: February 21st and 28th, March 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.
  • Teaching Block 2 comprises 6 Sessions: September 12th, 19th and 26th, October (no training on October 3rd), 10th, 17th and 24th.

Times: from 8:30am – 1:00pm with optional networking /practice from 8:15am to 8:30am UK Time.

Please be aware that here in the UK we move from GMT to BST on 30th March and then from BST to GMT on 26th October 2025, which will mean an hour’s shift. Payment:

Up until one month prior to the course commencing we offer the option to pay a deposit on application and the balance of payment one month before the course commences. Should you not be accepted onto the course, this will be refunded – please check you meet the entry requirements before applying.

  • Either pay a £165 deposit now and the balance of £700 before 17th January 2025
  • OR make payment in full now of £865

    Learning Outcomes

      Leonie Schell

      Susan Peacock

      I’m a Chartered Counselling Psychologist registered with the BPS and HCPC and Mindfulness MBSR trainer.  Mindfulness has had a powerful influence on my life whether working with individuals or teams in public or private sector organisations or while I’m rowing on the Thames near our home in Twickenham.
