OMC Teacher
Training Routes

The OMC offers two routes for people wishing to train to introduce and train to teach mindfulness using the Mindfulness for Life curriculum.

In deciding which route to apply for, we ask you to consider your intentions for training.

Route 1

Introducing
Mindfulness

If your intention is to bring mindfulness into your community, workplace,
or other setting, but not to teach 8-week mindfulness courses, Route 1 (Introducing Mindfulness) is for you.

For example, you might like to offer informational sessions, guide short mindfulness practices, facilitate experiential drop-in sessions, or teach the OMC’s short introductory programme.

Route 2

Teaching 8-Week
Mindfulness Courses

If your intention is to teach a range of 8-week courses using the MBCT curricula, Route 2 is for you.

This route includes the knowledge and skills taught in Route 1 (Introducing Mindfulness), with additional and more in-depth training necessary for teaching 8-week mindfulness courses.

Route 2 is also available through the Master of Studies.

We offer ‘Branch Training’ for teachers trained in the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) curriculum or mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Depression (MBCT) who would like to learn to teach the Mindfulness for Life curriculum.
